User's notes
Surprised to see a coconut ant nest where I initially thought just a termite nest. Sorry ant pics not good, they were very active. There seemed to be variation in colour from almost totally red to almost totally black. Did not see any hairs, but did not really get close enough look. Killed one to be certain, definitely smelled of coconut. Saw a couple of Alates on top of the nest. Suddenly realised I was standing on part of the nest, so beat a hasty retreat.
