Edosa meliphanes ?

I agree that it is Edosa and very similar to Edosa meliphanes but the brown on the termen goes around the apex on this one so I think it is a different Edosa species. Edosa hypocritica is also quite similar on BOLD but does not seem the same to me. Maybe it is one for Glenn to look at? He said he was happy to look at special things occasionally.

Yes, I think this is and Edosa (genus) species, but there is some uncertainty as to which species. Looking at E. meliphanes elsewhere online that species seems to have a characteristic straight boundary line between the terminal black band and the dominant yellow of the forewing, whereas the boundary between the terminal black band and yellow is curved in this specimen and the band is somewhat narrower. This specimen. to me, looks more like many examples of E. hypocritica as seen on the ALA. But it is also true there seems to be two forms of E. hypocritia on the ALA: those with a thinner black terminal band as is apparent here, and those with a much broader black terminal black band as is also evident for the iNaturalist examples of E. hypocritica. I agree it appears to warrant further examination.
