User's notes

Additional close-up detail for previous sighting 4633027. The first three images provide some detail of the interface between the beetle’s antennae and compound eyes. The images appear to show that the head of this type of beetle may have evolved and changed shape over time, causing the base of each antenna to move across the face and into the compound eye structure. In some other Longhorn beetles this feature almost separates each eye into two distinct parts, an upper and lower section. The fourth image shows some detail of the sections forming one of the long antennae and how there appears to be a ball and socket type connection for each section. The final image shows the claws and adjacent pad of tiny hairs or setae at the end of one of the beetle’s legs that enable it to attach to a variety of surfaces.
