Two species of Pterohelaeus here, P. hirtus and P. piceus.
P. piceus appears in images 1 and 4; to the right in image 2; and to the right in image 3.
P. hirtus is at the left in image 2; and at the left and middle in image 3.
P. piceus is common in Canberra gardens; it has an oval outline and thin tarsi (feet). P. hirtus has a more oblong outline, broad tarsi and more prominent costae (ridges) on the elytra. It is uncommon.
