Not convinced it is either of the two suggested species. Could be something else. In any case I'd love to have a go at determining what it is, and to photograph alive myself with my DSLR gear. Any chance it could please be sent to me, alive or dead (prefer alive if possible)? Or others if found? Species in Temognatha feed on the nectar of certain flowers, especially Angophora, Eucalyptus, Bursaria, Leptospermum / Gaudium, and Kunzea. If so, I can be contacted via Facebook Messenger. @entom2 I added another photo also, the red head markings differ ever so slightly from the affinis on here but everything else appears affinis
I have leptospernum it could have been feeding on
