A new species for Naturemapr's Canberra and southern Tableland region if confirmed. Excellent photos. P. desmotoma is ashown as having a more tropical distribution on the ALA.

Yes I saw that Ian but the wing pattern seemed to match desmotoma a lot better. I only base this on one photo that I have found. You have probably seen a lot more specimens.

This shows a very dark forewing bas and a wavy mainline boundary on the forewing for P. desmotoma I thought:

I can't get the first URL to work but I agree. Safest to leave it at genus level.
Also, Ian please tell me how you created the first URL because there are a lot of URLs in this format on NatureMapr and none of them work. I don't know how they get generated and it would be good to know so we can tell people not to do it.

See corrected URL above. Sorry i will have to watch that. Not sure how I made the mistake. The problem seems to tbe extra "#gallery" at the end of the URL.
OK I see now. To reference a species on the ALA use the 'Overview" option, not the second 'Gallery' option.
