at light, very small, about 5mm in length

No, its not Barea dryocoetes., a moth of which I've put several examples up on here. This thing has small spots, is shiny in appearance and is about half the size of the Barea in terms of length. The Barea which having similar colours has large dark spots.

A new species for NatureMapr and NatureMapr's Canberra and southern Tablelands region. Nice dorsal view which ais in ID.
