More photographs please of these flowers, and of the base leaf .
The nectaries appear farther than usual down the tepals. The tepals' tips appear to have deep pink colour like the nectary colour. Appears a female (unisexual) plant.
I suggest looking further at this plant as a candidate for one of the other subspecies or a different new subspecies, ie.: *Wurmbea dioica* subsp. ...? . Or simply *Wurmbea dioica* (without any subspecies) .
Beyond the author of this sighting and those who can go look at this plant first hand, to look into this plant by photographs any more than this distant photograph, obviously we need more close–up, clear, photographs made, if possible please @courtneyb ?!?
Some questions: • do the tepals have any white part below the pink area including the nectaries? • the tepals have significantly different shape from usual *Wurmbea dioica* subsp. *dioica* – what gives regarding the shape – any more plants like this in this area please ? • Again the base leaf information please ? • etcetera .
See related but not the same subspecies, including subsp. *brevifolia* which must occur in NSW as well as in NW Vic. and SA. including along the borders to NSW, referenced here : • Flora of Vic. online VicFlora: https://vicflora.rbg.vic.gov.au/flora/taxon/2f9d0b53-9aee-4d65-9f5a-63e8ddc1fc73 • APNI : https://biodiversity.org.au/nsl/services/search/names?product=APNI&tree.id=&name=Wurmbea+dioica&inc._scientific=&inc.scientific=on&inc._cultivar=&inc._other=&max=100&display=apni&search=true • Not yet recorded in the Flora of NSW online : https://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=gn&name=Wurmbea .
