Invasive Weed of National significance spreading from BP Service Station Gardens, Corner Federal Highway and Antill Street. I have previously notified through Access Canberra, but nothing has been done. BP Franchise is responsible for this weed's management and removal. I have previously also written to BP management but never got a reply. Why does ACT Government allow this Spread of Invasive weeds for YEARS and does nothing to Penalise BP ???
MAX Blue Periwinkle is not a WoNS see https://canberra.naturemapr.org/species/lists/54. It is recognised as a Pest Plant in the ACT, but only in a category where it is prohibited from sale. There is no legal mechanism to force its removal.
Thanks for Clarifying this Barb. However it remains a Significant concern that such a Well known Multi National Company such as BP which makes $Billion profits does NOT appear to support the local Community, by Deliberately growing Invasive Weeds at their Franchised premises, in relatively close proximity to Canberra Nature Parks and does NOT display any kind of positive corporate Leadership role for such Significant Environmental concerns. They Need to do MUCH BETTER !! 🥴
