Revisited the Strathnairn Main Pond and netted a few plants from the surface. Refloated a few in a jar of water. Images show the delicate branching on the submerged roots, and the triangular pinnae.
This is same place as sighting 4582902 from 27 Jul. Request my initial suggestion of A. pinnata be reinstated on that record. I increased my estimate of plant numbers to 1-10K since each pinnae corresponds to one plant.
Note of caution for ID in the field - my 3rd image shows the damp plants sitting on the net used to collect them - water surface tension held all fine root branches against the central root - fine branches only became visible when refloated!
