This Royal blue-coloured specimen is typical of those found at altitude in the alpine regions. The species is usually a dark greenish Prussian Blue colour, with a Royal Blue ventral surface. However, at altitude, the dorsal colour is much lighter. Other blue-green species, such as Caenoplana spenceri also exhibit this phenomenon in the alpine region.
