@trevorpreston does it look like it was planted? Reason I ask is that it has transverse veins on the adult leaves, like a mahogany Eucalypt. Fruits are mahogany Eucalypt like too cylindrical, sessile, descending disc and valves enclosed.
It's hard to tell, most are old and very large like the one in the photo, a few younger ones that I was able to photograph some leaves on. It's possible the older ones are planted. I could tell these were unusual but couldn't put my finger on it, they just looked different.
I might add that there are obvious plantings of native shrubs around the Rocky Hill War Memorial car park and buildings, and this is the only "patch" of these trees I have seen in this area. So far anyway.
Yeah, one of the coastal Mahogany gums. There are not any local to this area, and the trees don't look outside of the 'planted in the 150 years' or so realm. E.botryoides?
