Unsure if this is a fungus or something like a pin mould. On the diagonal light coloured stick seen in the first image there are seven black coloured, needle-like stalks, each with a small light coloured cylindrical shape at the top. These appeared in the background of images showing coral fungi and weren't noticed until the images were processed. The second image is poor quality and out of focus but shows the stick with the stalks as it appeared in the background.
