Any chance you can identify the Acacia to species? Endoraecium carnegiei also forms galls like these on Acacia dealbata and to distinguish it from Uromycladium murphyi one needs to look at the spores with a compound microscope (400x). If it is Acacia dealbata one can't rule out both rusts being present on the same plant. If the Acacia is one of the other bipinnate species then it is likely to be a Uromycladium species.

It is not A. dealbata but I have not yet worked out what species it is.

It is Acacia decurrens and I have a small branch with the galls on it, if you are interested. I don't have a compound microscope to look at the spores.

I would expect this to be Uromycladium murphyi, thus far it is the only known gall rust on Acacia decurrens based on the following paper Doungsa-ard, C.; McTaggart, A.R.; Geering, A.D.W.; Shivas, R.G. (2018) Diversity of gall-forming rusts (Uromycladium, Pucciniales) on Acacia in Australia, Persoonia Volume 40, June 2018, pp. 221-238. No species of Endoraecium are presently known from Acacia decurrens relevant reference is A.R. McTaggart, C. Doungsa-ard, A.D.W. Geering, M.C. Aime, R.G. Shivas (2015) A co-evolutionary relationship exists between Endoraecium (Pucciniales) and its Acacia hosts in Australia. Persoonia 35: 50–62.
