Any chance you saw it the following day?
Certainly a spectacular plasmodium with sporing bodies forming.
After more contemplation, a possibility is a Paradiachia sp; I've seen this several times and its very difficult to find the following day, as it becomes black with lovely iridescent colours shining through.
