These may be the same as the ant photographed the other day. They were in the same area. however i have only recently begun to look carefully for the ant taxa on the block. Most are very small.

Hi ran452, these are a different genus, Iridomyrmex. Unfortunately ants are not easy to get good photos of and identifying them to species needs pretty good images. If you submit more ant sightings it is good if you can get images from several angles - though it isn’t always possible! Cheers, Jon
