They were on a daisy, Pseudonaphalium luteoalbum. however, one of the family members in the house next door had planted roses recently so they may have originated from the roses.

Thanks Alan - I thought it may be a Uroleucon sp. which matches with it feeding on a daisy but I can't find one that is bright green with black legs and spinets
