Oh dear - I've just uploaded another photo which I think shows it was missing its back leg before I picked it up!

As far as I am aware and if the ID is correct, this is the first record for the High Plains of KNP. I have been in the area over many years and never seen one. I will report it to NPWS threatened species.

Sorry, a misidentification. YouNing has confirmed as a female Percassa. Unusual markings and small size.
