Might be. Are you able to re-visit to observe the mature version?

Just tried to upload photo from today ... all very slow and not working. Will try again later.

Finally worked.

Great, agree with your initial ID.
Great colour changes for this genus depending on which elements they pick up in the soil.
Have you ever found the white one?
   29 Jan 2024
Hmmm. Don't know. Just looking through my fungal photos and there is something similar in white. No idea what it is. Doesn't seem to fit any of the photos in the slime mould group.

The white one looks the same as the yellow one in form and size, usually at ground level rather than along the plants.

I can put the white one I have photos of up on the site and you can judge.

And I am not familiar enough with slime moulds to know whether the things I am looking at are fungi or slime moulds. Hence they tend to lumped in as fungi until I find otherwise.

Fair enough; slimes can be very confusing; happy to assist, but I'm just an amateur also who loves these critters.
