Not overly happy with subsp spinosa, the local subsp is lasiophylla. Was there any particular reason for the ID?

Multistemmed shrub is subsp. lasiophylla. Petals would be up to 4mm. The distinguishing feature I had to demonstrate in my early sightings for CNM was the hairy underside of the leaves.
