Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

27 Dec 2023

We want to eradicate any "wild" ferret populations in Australia. They are yet to successfully establish a foothold in Australia, but have teh potential to be a major predator of native wildlife.

User's notes

Margaret Dudley reported her probable ferret sighting to Canberra Wildlife Photography, and when asked for more detail responded "Only got a glimpse as it crossed the path but there was just something about the movement that said “weasel” to me. It had a long slim body and all four legs were short. It was black all over but the main thing that caught my attention was the short, stubby but fluffy tail. It did not have a long thin tail with a white tip on it."
