Haha I suppose I didn't then! It was going from flower to flower and circling round each one - the movement looked similar to the other wasp I saw which definitely was laying eggs so I assumed it was doing the same. It also stuck to this species of plant only, moving between a few clumps and ignoring other flowers. But maybe it was on the lookout for solitary bees?
