@donhe this was the caterpillar- Orgyia anartoides (Painted Apple Moth)
It pupated within a day of me taking catching it, do you think the odd wings could be from stress from being caught, or is it normal?

It would be good to add the moth photos to that sighting showing a single individual through its various life stages. The wings probably got damaged fluttering around its container between emerging and being photographed.
