If this is D. chryseopsis then it is a very late flowering individual. Can I confirm that it was in flower yesterday?

yes, there were just two occurrences on this hillside. And it was in flower yesterday.

Because of the flowering and time of flowering, D. amabilis was suggested.

Was it larger plant with larger flowers than D. chryseopsis? I would normally confirm based on the yellow "core" of the labellum, but that isn't visible in these photos. I would feel more comfortable calling this D. amabilis if you believe the plant was larger than D. chryseopsis.

It's a good point, the late flowering time does suggest D.amabilis.

Apologies: I am not familiar enough with Diuris to say whether bigger smaller or same size as D. chryseopsis. Rob Gibbon was there, and may be able to help ?

Hi Matt and Ciaran, the plant was around 190 mm tall and the petals around 15 mm long. The petals were not drooping. As you both point out, the time of flowering fits better with D amabilis than D chryseopsis. I have sent some photos to Jean and asked her for her opinion and she says that D amabilis can be quite variable and believes this is D amabilis.
