Interesting how the large eye spots actually overlap the main brown line across the forewing. Most examples I've seen just abut the line.

I just looked at ones I have previously put on iNat (found in SEQ) and as you noted, this one is a bit different. I thought the ring of the eyespot was very black. I checked my other photos from tonight and they are all the same so it isn't photo angle or lighting.

There is some eyespot overlap' in some other examples online, but this is the most overlsp Ive seen

No i don't think so, Antheraea eucalypti was the prior name I believe.

Opodiphthera eucalypti date from a 2010 revision. Thet are synonyms (AFD).
