Don't think this little one had any tail bits hanging off its wings.

Tails have just worn away. This is a female.

Thank you for the confirmation and comment, Owen. I was wondering if you can help with another question? What distinguishes a Long-Tailed Pea Blue with its tail worn off from the Two-spotted Line Blue butterfly?

You're welcome Untidy and a great question. In the field it's quite easy as the TSLB is a much smaller butterfly than the LTPB. In photos you are looking at differences in the shape of the butterfly, the colouration, the markings on the under and upper sides of the wings and, in this case, even the form of the spots on the hindwing. Rather than just making a list of all I think it would be much easier to understand if you are able to compare images of the species side by side.
Are you aware of the C&STNM species pages?
LTPB: Lampides boeticus
TSLB: Nacaduba biocellata
Hope this helps..

Hi Owen, Yes I did check the species pages when I put up my photos and I was still confused. Thanks for your additional comments which are very helpful. She was quite a big girl so that would definitely fit with Lampides boeticus.
