I've always wanted to visit Thuddungra having seen the sign on the Young-Grenfell many times. What took you there. Monteagle Cemetery is near there which used to have a good patch of secondary natural grassland. The specimen is missing hind legs
This trip was part of a FOG trip to Dananbilla Nature Reserve, Quamby TSR and Monteagle Cemetery. The cemetery is very heavily thatched with Kangaroo grass and badly needs some mosaic burns, but is clearly a gem worth saving. No idea what happened to this grasshoppers legs, its surprising how often I find them with a leg or two missing. I think this would be a great area to come back to in a month or two.
Thanks, I forgot about the FOG Trip as I was going to Girraween NP that week but cancelled this because of the dry conditions. On Wednesday I am going to the Bombala reserve with Stuart Harris to try and collect the unusual Ditropidius to send to Chris Reid at the Australian Museum
