I've always wanted to visit Thuddungra having seen the sign on the Young-Grenfell many times. What took you there. Monteagle Cemetery is near there which used to have a good patch of secondary natural grassland. The specimen is missing hind legs

This trip was part of a FOG trip to Dananbilla Nature Reserve, Quamby TSR and Monteagle Cemetery. The cemetery is very heavily thatched with Kangaroo grass and badly needs some mosaic burns, but is clearly a gem worth saving.
No idea what happened to this grasshoppers legs, its surprising how often I find them with a leg or two missing.
I think this would be a great area to come back to in a month or two.

Thanks, I forgot about the FOG Trip as I was going to Girraween NP that week but cancelled this because of the dry conditions. On Wednesday I am going to the Bombala reserve with Stuart Harris to try and collect the unusual Ditropidius to send to Chris Reid at the Australian Museum

Good luck with the Bombala trip and the beetle catching. It's an area that deserves more attention and sightings.
