User's notes

In grassy woodland. The first photo of the garden escape shows a collected sample of a grevillea shrub which I photographed in situ (second photo) when light was dim.

Hmm, a spider flower grevillea - if it is G. alpina, it is a "local", from Black Mountain

Barb, the colour of flowers and leaves don't match G. alpina. I'm 99% sure it is a garden escape; over the past 20 years removing woody weeds in this area sand that location I found many grevillea rosmarinifolia and hybrids rosmarinifolia x juniperina; but I can't remember having spotted the beautiful yellow green flowering grevillea.

The ones on Black Mountain are red but see description in https://apps.lucidcentral.org/plants_se_nsw/text/entities/grevillea_alpina.htm
- it does seem to be a very variable species.
Probably is a garden escapee like all the others. Take some cuttings and call it Waltraud's Wonder...

Pretty sure this is G. arenaria, as Ciaran suggested. Not something local

hmm the G. arenaria we found in the north invading from Fed highway plantings have different coloured flowers - the leaves are matching G arenaria. Perhaps a cultivar.... I collected samples, will see what Isobel thinks.

Yes, I it very likely a cultivar But one based of G.arenaria (the wild ones don’t look like this really).
