Hi Mike & Alison, although we (and everyone else in Australia) have been calling these ants Papyrius nitidus in the past, as the taxonomy of these ants is pretty poor, I think it's probably best to default to calling them "Papyrius sp." Cheers, Jon

It was a colony previously called P. nitidus so I left it at that. Is anyone researching these ants?

Hi Mike - yes, me! Across Australia and PNG there are probably around 7 - 10 species and the workers are extremely hard to tell apart. Hopefully I’ll sort it out by the end of next year. Cheers, J
