Apparently a new possum box screwed to a stem of a big multi-stemmed Acacia floribunda tree and empty; see my sighting with comments and questions

Ranger and I probed a second time whether a possum resides in the box and it seemed empty. I wonder whether released possums are either killed or find a way back into suburbia.
