Hi Evie, these ants look like they are probably Iridomyrmex purpureus, but the colour in the photograph looks strange. Did they look this colour in real life? Cheers, Jon

Hi Jon,

Yes, that's how I remember them (dark and shiny). I noticed that the one in the top left has what appears like a salty waterline on its abdomen which I hadn't noticed when I took the picture.
