It's endlessly amazing Trevor, that there are so many species of these miniature invertebrates each, one assumes, with its own niche, food requirements and "value" to ecosystems. Rosemary.

I used to think of that as pause & ponder Trevor. Then The Urban Field Naturalist online and book concept came round. They express the wisdom as Slow Down - Observe - Record - Ask Questions - Share & then repeat of course!

It does involve having the time without life's actual pressures and then the courage to follow ones natural curiosity towards doing the exploring into what may initially be strange territories......
