Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

7 Jul 2023

Roger Farrow reports that this is the first ever record of this genus outside a cave for this genus. There is one record from Murrays Cave at Blue Waterholes (Where Roger has also seen it) and at Yarrangobilly. These appear to be C. montanus, from earlier records.

I think its a cave cricket Family Rhaphidophoridae but have forwarded to Youning and Dave Rentz for confirmation before adding it as a new species.. There is a key by AM Richards 1987.

It has been confirmed as Cavernotettix by Dr Perry Beasley-Hall, cave cricket expert from Adelaide Uni.
