Well done Thurstan, there are only very few previous records of Rakali (aka Hydromys chrysogaster or Water Rat) in this location (there are many more in the main part of the lake itself). There are no records at all of this species upstream of the nearby Gungahlin Drive crossing, so it will be interesting to see if they can make their way up there before the next drought comes and shrinks their distribution back to the permanent waters.
