I don't think I've seen this species of Banksia before, a compact small bush, there were quite a lot growing together on a dry, west-facing slope of the mountain.

Thanks for the ID @Tapirlord and nice to know what it is. I had a look through a field guide I have to the plants of the Sydney region and I thought B. paludosa was the closest match I could find.

Yes a nice sighting Matthew first record on CNM, not one I expect to be particularly widespread or common in the region covered by this platform.
