Why go backwards Alison? Did you not check the suggested genus? There are many examples in ALA.

Hi Stuart, I was going by the examples on CNM. S. bellus all have orange heads, which this one does not. All other examples like this one have been ID'ed as unknown, not just by myself. There are many incorrect IDs on ALA so I prefer to rely on CNM.

Hi Alison. The Scymnodes sp. on CNM are NOT S. bellus though yes, they all have orange heads; obviously a single species. If you look at the information on S. bellus on ALA, ie, the records details, there are links to a paper by Pope & Lawrence, 1990 which may add light to this debate. I do not have access to enough information to emphatically call S. bellus though I think there is enough information available to assign this record to genus level, ie, Scymnodes sp.
