A very interesting sighting in an isolated summit grassland surrounded by forest

@RogerF This is the correct location for the keyacris. The last one used the wrong gps and came up on South Coast Nature Map so I didn't realise until now. It was in the heath on top of Mt Budawang (so still pretty coastal).

Keyacris can persist in very small areas of suitable habitat down to a few hectares. Was it here at a drier time when heathland/grassland was more extensive i.e. during the last ice age and then was cut-off by the expanding forest. Any suggestions?

I visited Mt Budawang today (22.12) with Rob Armstrong DPE. We flushed and photographed 3 specimens of Heide in the short (mown) grassy heath surrounding the fire tower. I believe 4480160 is a Heide sp. The apparently low number of antennae segments visible is because the base of the antenna is hidden by the vertex.
