The smaller spider (male?) approached the larger spider on three occasions. It fled on every occasion. Note that legs were touched.

These appear to be a male and female diamond comb-footed spiders - Cryptachaea veruculata.
The one closest to the camera, which appears larger, is actually the male.

In this case I think the smaller spider is a female
