I'm wondering why it wasn't possible to identify this insect - at least to some degree. What more detail would have been required to assist in ID. Thanks.

Hi Wendy, it hasn’t been deemed to be an inconclusive sighting, so I’m guessing the moderators just haven’t had time to look at it yet. I’m sure they’ll be able to ID it for you.
