I assume lepidoptera. I can (very likely) collect it and see what it turns into but would prefer not.

Nymphalid butterfly pupa. Appears similar to Marbled Xenica. If you're not collecting it for id would need to see photos from the other two sides.

Okay. Assuming that nothing has decided it is tasty I can check the other two sides and take pix. And I could collect it. We do have a lot of marbled xenicas here at the moment. I nearly trod on one the other day.

Sorry not still there. Got a lot of photos of other stuff but. Only a couple of butterflies. Mostly moths (because I like them) and one orchid.
