Helen, A lateral veiw would also be very handy to pick up the side markings on the pronotum. This applies to most katydids. Thanks Roger

Having had a second look at the lateral views a second time, I think that A. falcata is correct. Its very unusual being so far from the coast

I forgot to add that I have recorded an undescribed female Austrosalamona sp No 9 from a Gymea in ANBG. So it may be better to call your Austrosalamona sp. as it is unlikelt to be falcata so far from the coast.
