User's notes

The hole is 7mmØ, drilled in a hardwood log, mounted in a "bee hotel". The hole was previously used and sealed with mud; user unknown. Recently it was observed to be open. Two insects were increasing the size of the opening and removing what looked like thin flakes of clay. They were both present in the hole from time to time. The hole is now capped with mud.

The notch in the inner margin of the compound eye indicates that it is a wasp. My first guess would be a Pison species.
