Sorry Deb - I've pretty much given up trying to separate Southern from Stout at Cotter Reserve. Both occur there but there are so many individuals that appear to be intermediate in a range of characters I'm almost convinced there is significant hybridisation occurring. Which begs the question of the validity of the two species. Most characters on this one I'd have gone, on balance, with Southern, but the anal appendages (notoriously difficult to determine from photos) look more like Stout.

Thanks Harvey appreciate your time and the explanation, it does make it difficult if there is significant hybridisation occurring.
