The sky over half of Lake Burley Griffin (Commonwealth Bridge side) as well as Commonwealth Park (around the usual roosting trees by Stage 88) were filled with flying foxes as they flew out after sunset. It was an impressive number to see at once!
There are occasionally little red flying-foxes (Pteropus scapulatus) in this camp, but it is more than likely that these are grey-headed flying-foxes - fantastic fly-out!
