Salma marmorea does not appear in the Australian Faunal Directory or on the ALA. The similar looking moth Stericta marmorea does appear on the ALA but is confined to Tasmania with no photos visible. iiNaturalist does show S. marmorea sightings for SE Australia and southern Victoria but mainly for coastal areas. Similarly for S pyrastis but more inland sughtings are apparent,
The similat looking Salma cholica has records on the ALA for SE Qld and southern Victoria, none showing for NSW or the ACT. Bold Systems 4 only shows records of S. cholica for WA mainly.and one in Queensland.
