Hi Trevor can we please remove the first image as it is misleading and belongs to a different species (maybe Hypochaeris) and not Crepis foetida.

This flower was absolutely attached to the same plant, if it only had the flowers on it and no seed heads I would've walked straight past it. Rainer Rehwinkel who was with me at the time has had several botanists look at it and they agree this is Picris angustifolia. Confusing daisies!

Thanks Trevor makes sense now in spite of your new comments and yes those flowers are definitely not Crepis foetida. I was not entirely convinced at first but it makes a lot more sense now.

My comments on this species were posted under the incorrectly identified Crepis foetida page. The plants pictured are indeed Picris angustifolia, as identified by the eminent NSW botanists and myself, based on my previous sighting of this species at Royalla.
