Significant record! This is the first record in CNM of Sambar in Ainslie-Majura. However I have a camera trap photo somewhere of one at the Duntroon end of the reserve in about 2015, and there was one killed on Clunies Ross St near Black Mt some years before that. It is typical for Sambar to remain undetected in an area for extended periods because they are extremely good at avoiding humans.

Don
presence of Samba deer is known for some time.
We found dropping, traces and a damaged tree and wondered whether to load up pics to CNM / put up a camera as animal/s seem to come to the same spot.
PCS know and I will contact the person to send pics and coordinates of damaged tree etc to PCS.
