Thank you Alison, unfortunately I do not have any other photos of this beetle as I quickly snapped it walking past and regretfully only later became interested in identifying it.
The beetle does look vaguely familiar to me as well but so far I haven’t had much luck in narrowing it down past Coleoptera.
