My suggestion as to species is somewhat speculative but I think the markings on this specimen are quite a good match for the species and Bold Systems 4 does show that I. panaeolana has been recorded formerly in the ACT and nearby NSW, see here: http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?searchMenu=taxonomy&query=Isochorista+panaeolana&taxon=Isochorista+panaeolana The ALA and iNatiralist only shows records from Victoria and Tasmania. See INaturalist records here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&taxon_id=948591 If this suggested ID is confirmed this will be a first record of the species for CNM.
The black inter-band forewing markings are good match, but I am unhappy with this ID as the main 7 bands are brown instead of the 'leaden' grey described by Meyrick. Maybe there is individual or sexual variation in the colour?
@ibaird @donhe thank you. This was at the Murrumbateman Village box that is home to some endangered wildlife and fauna. I hadn't seen one of these before and was very curious :)
