User's notes

Insect about 4mm. Very fast little insect, hence the less than perfect photos. Looks like a little silverfish, I've only seen something like this before at Nambucca heads where I also have a sighting for one, perhaps clearer, on North Coast Nature Map. https://north-coast-nsw.naturemapr.org/sightings/4435781 Redgate Travelling Stock Reserve Bombala

A native silverfish of family Nicoletiidae, subfamily Atelurinae. An inquiline in ants' nests.

Thanks Kim, I though this looked silverfishy!
Are you able to add Atelurinae subfamily?
I have sighted these a few more times since in different places, but they are quick and skittish and difficult to photograph. I cant help wondering what other species of Zygentoma are out there unphotographed.

Almost certainly a species of Australiatelura. The best way to photograph silverfish is to get them into a smooth plastic tray somehow. They cannot climb smooth surfaces.
